Kohimarama is a coastal residential suburb of Auckland Central, New Zealand situated east of Auckland City. Much of the homes in the suburb have some of the best views across the Auckland Harbour.
Kohimarama sits between Mission Bay and St Heliers and has a beach with a boardwalk and green recreational areas between residential areas.
At the 2018 New Zealand census, Kohimarama had a population of 4,350 with 1,707 households.
Nature Reserves and Kohimarama Beach
The suburb has several nature reserves, including Madills Farm Recreation Reserve, Mary Atkin Reserve, Kohimarama Beach Reserve, Sage Road Reserve and Speight Road Reserve.
Today, Kohimarama is a quieter alternative to the famous beachside suburb of Mission Bay and its collection of cafés and bars.
Local Schools
Selwyn College is a secondary school, while Kohimarama and St Thomas School are primary schools.
