Owairaka is a suburb of Auckland, New Zealand, governed by the Auckland Council. The suburb is home to the world-renowned Owairaka Athletic Club, which is located at the historic Lovelock Track, which has set five world records.
According to the 2018 New Zealand census, Owairaka had a population of 5,268 people and 1,665 households.
ÅŒwairaka – Mt Albert Heritage Walks
This walk follows the Allen, Sadgrove, and Kerr Taylor farms, with a stop at the Kerr Taylor farmhouse ‘Alberton.’
The walk describes the devastation of ÅŒwairaka due to quarrying. For cyclists who want to avoid the cone on the trail, there is a bike path along Mt Albert Road. Walkers may either surround the cone by road or follow the tracks.
