Oranga is a tiny residential suburb in Auckland Central, New Zealand. It is nine kilometres south-east of the city centre, between the commercial suburbs of Te Papapa and Penrose on the south and east, and the residential suburbs of One Tree Hill and Onehunga on the north and south.
The suburb used to be a public housing neighbourhood for low-income families, but it is increasingly redeveloping. Many of the state houses have been purchased by private investors for restoration and subdividing their expansive portions. Real estate agents are gradually marketing these homes as belonging to the affluent suburb of One Tree Hill.
According to the 2018 New Zealand census, Oranga had a population of 3,198 people and 879 households.
One Tree Hill College, Marcellin College, and Onehunga High School are the local secondary schools.
