Point Chevalier is a residential suburb of Auckland, New Zealand situated on the southern shore of Waitemata Harbour, five kilometres west of the city centre.
The suburb was originally a working-class area with some state houses, but over the last few decades it has developed into a middle-class suburb, with several renovation projects either completed or in the works.
According to the 2018 New Zealand census, Point Chevalier had a population of 8,460 people and 3,033 households.
The Liverpool Estate is a plot of land bounded on one side by Great North and Point Chevalier Roads. In addition to housing, it now contains a supermarket, various stores, and the Point Chevalier Community Library. Several streets in the Liverpool Estate are named after New Zealand birds, including Moa, Huia, and Kiwi Roads, as well as Tui Street.
Pt Chevalier Primary School, located on Te Ra Road, is the suburb’s main primary school. Western Springs College, a large state secondary school located in the neighbouring suburb of Western Springs, serves Point Chevalier.
