Te Tātua-a-Riukiuta Volcano
Te Tātua-a-Riukiuta, also known as Three Kings, is a volcano that erupted 28,500 years ago in Three Kings. The volcano had three prominent peaks and a range of smaller peaks before the majority of them were quarried down, leaving only one large peak standing.
Te Tātua-a-Riukiuta was the most complex volcano in the Auckland volcanic region, with five major scoria cones and around a dozen smaller scoria mounds nestled within a massive eruption crater.
